Continued Thai Attacks Reported in Banteay Meanchey and Preah Vihear Provinces

The Ministry of National Defence reported that Thai military forces continued their attacks on Banteay Meanchey and Preah Vihear provinces on Sunday.
According to the ministry, at 1:01 p.m., Thai forces deployed an F-16 fighter jet, which dropped two bombs in the area of Phkoam commune, Svay Chek district, Banteay Meanchey province.
About half an hour later, at 1:35 p.m., the Thai military continued to attack civilian areas by launched 9 artillery shells in the area of Nimit commune, O’Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province.
In addition, from 2:35 p.m. to 2:57 p.m., they launched 11 artillery shells in the area of Poipet district, Poipet city, Banteay Meanchey province.
Earlier in the morning, at 9:31 a.m., Thai forces were reported to have deployed toxic gas in the area surrounding the Preah Vihear Temple.
The ministry stressed that Cambodian forces will continue to closely monitor the situation and remain strong, brave, and steadfast in confronting the aggressors, while staying vigilant in carrying out their duties to protect Cambodia’s territorial integrity.
“We will defend our nation’s dignity with courage and unwavering resolve, at any cost, and will not succumb to coercion or intimidation in any form,” the Ministry reaffirmed.
