Cambodia Reports New Thai F-16 Airstrikes against Preah Vihear Province
AKP Phnom Penh, December 19, 2025 --
Thai forces’ F-16 fighter jets continued to carry out airstrikes against Cambodia, particularly targeting Preah Vihear province, this afternoon, according to the Ministry of National Defence.
The Ministry said that at 3:30 p.m., Thai forces deployed F-16 fighter jets to bomb the Peak Sbaek area in Preah Vihear province.
Thai forces have repeatedly claimed through their media outlets that their targets are strictly military bases. However, in reality, most of the strikes have hit civilian infrastructure and residential areas.
In this regard, H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information of Cambodia, stated that although Thai forces insist their bombing operations are aimed solely at military positions, the actual targets have included homes, schools, and other civilian infrastructure.
Yesterday, Thai F-16 fighter jets bombarded Poipet and Serei Sophorn cities in Banteay Meanchey province – both densely populated civilian areas.
Thai forces have deliberately targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure in their aggressive attacks against Cambodian territory. Such acts of armed aggression constitute serious violations of international law, for which Thailand bears full and unequivocal responsibility, the Minister underlined.
