Thai Forces Keep Attacking Civilian Infrastructure
AKP Phnom Penh, December 16, 2025 -- Thai forces have continued to attack schools and other civilian infrastructure in various areas following the renewal of their aggressive military operations against Cambodia’s territorial integrity.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Interior this afternoon, Thai troops on Dec. 15, 2025, continued firing artillery shells at O’Beichoan Primary School, located in O’Beichoan commune, O’Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province.
The shelling completely destroyed school buildings, teachers’ and students’ restrooms, as well as food stalls within the school compound.
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports reported that as of Dec. 15, 2025, a total of 1,039 schools across six provinces have been forced to close, affecting 9,797 teachers and 242,881 students.
