Thai Forces Increase Airstrikes and Bombings Inside Cambodian Territory
AKP Phnom Penh, December 15, 2025 --
Thai forces have intensified the use of fighter jets to carry out bombings and deploy cluster munitions on Cambodian territory, with attacks increasing in both frequency and scale and expanding deeper into Cambodia’s sovereign territory, according to the Ministry of National Defence.
H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence, said the intensified airstrikes pose a serious threat to Cambodia’s sovereignty and civilian safety.
“This morning, Thai forces used F-16 fighter jets to drop two bombs near a displaced civilians’ camp in Srei Snam district, Siem Reap province, raising grave concerns over the safety of refugees and local residents,” she underlined at a press briefing this afternoon.
Meanwhile, H.E. Pen Bona, Head of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, strongly condemned the Thai military operations, describing them as a clear violation of Cambodia’s territorial integrity and international law.
He called for an immediate cessation of the attacks and urged Thailand to respect Cambodia’s sovereignty and ensure the protection of civilians.
H.E. Pen Bona said that at least 15 civilians have been killed and 74 others injured since Thai forces renewed their attacks on Cambodia on Dec. 7.
