Permanent Deputy PM Vongsey Vissoth Visits Wounded Troops in Kampong Thom
AKP Phnom Penh, December 15, 2025 --
Cambodian Permanent Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Vongsey Vissoth on Sunday visited and offered support to soldiers wounded while defending the nation's territorial integrity, who are receiving treatment at the Kampong Thom Provincial Referral Hospital.
H.E. Vissoth, who also serves as Minister in Charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, led the Royal Government’s working group delegation to the province. He was accompanied by his spouse, and senior officials including H.E. Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology; H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism; and Kampong Thom Provincial Governor H.E. Nuon Pharath.
The Deputy Prime Minister conveyed messages of concern and encouragement from top national leaders, including Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his spouse Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, as well as from Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and his spouse Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet. He emphasised the Royal Government’s unwavering focus on the welfare of soldiers and their families across the country.
H.E. Vissoth expressed deep appreciation for the bravery and sacrifices made by the servicemen in safeguarding Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He wished them a swift and full recovery, urging them to regain their health and strength for an eventual return to national service.
The visiting delegation provided morale-boosting assistance to the injured soldiers, with each receiving 500,000 Riel (approximately US$125) and essential supplies.
Additionally, in a separate show of support, Deputy Prime Minister Vissoth donated US$12,000 toward the construction of essential infrastructure at the request of the commander of Kampong Thom’s sub-operational military zone.
