AKP Phnom Penh, December 12, 2025 --
The number of Cambodian civilians displaced by continued Thai military attacks on Cambodian territory has jumped to 303,213 people, representing more than 89,687 families, as of 1:00 p.m. on Dec. 12.
According to official report released this evening by the Ministry of Interior, 38,482 people are currently seeking refuge in Oddar Meanchey province; 25,719 in Preah Vihear province; 134,456 in Banteay Meanchey province; 3,221 in Pursat province; 25,250 in Battambang province; and 76,085 in Siem Reap province.
The Ministry also confirmed 11 civilian fatalities: four in Oddar Meanchey, six in Banteay Meanchey, and one in Preah Vihear.
Since Dec. 7, the Thai military has renewed its attacks on Cambodian territory and expanded operations across multiple locations in Preah Vihear, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Battambang, and Pursat provinces. These operations have included the use of heavy weapons, F-16 fighter jets, and toxic gas, resulting in civilian casualties, damage to homes, temples, and health centers, the temporary closure of hundreds of schools, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of civilians. Cambodia has no choice but to counterattack in self-defence to repeated violations of its territorial integrity after exercising more than 24 hours of maximum restraint.
