Turkish Airlines Launches Istanbul-Phnom Penh Flight

The Türkiye’ national flag carrier – Turkish Airlines – launched on Thursday a new route between Istanbul and Phnom Penh, enhancing Cambodia’s presence within the global aviation network.
The welcome ceremony for the inaugural flight was held at the Techo International Airport in the presence of H.E. Mao Havannall, Minister in-Charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA); H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism; H.E Mrs. Ülkü Kocaefe, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Cambodia; Mr. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines; and tour agencies.
This new air service operating three flights per week with Boeing 777-300ER and starting from Dec. 11, 2025 marks a significant achievement in Cambodia’s aviation development and reflects Cambodia's growing role as a dynamic and connected nation in the region and beyond.
Speaking at the function, H.E. Mao Havannall, said that the establishment of the new route is not only an important milestone for Kingdom’s aviation sector, but also a symbol of the deepening friendship and cooperation between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Türkiye.
“Through the strategic hub of Istanbul, one of the world's most important gateways linking Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Cambodia is now more conveniently connected to global markets, business centres, and cultural destinations,” he said.
Cambodia has registered a total of 5.66 million international air passengers in the first ten months of 2025, a year-on-year rise of 14 percent, a SSCA report showed.
