Thai Aggressive Attacks Kill At Least Seven Civilians, Spokeswoman Says
AKP Phnom Penh, December 09, 2025 --
The Spokeswoman for the Ministry of National Defence, H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, has reported that aggressive military operations by Thai forces on Cambodian territory have killed at least seven civilians and injured 20 others.
“According to preliminary information from the provincial authorities, the Thai military’s shelling of civilian areas from Dec. 8 to 9, 2025, as of 6:00 a.m., has caused the deaths of seven Cambodian civilians and left 20 others injured,” she said at a press briefing this morning.
The Ministry of National Defence strongly condemned these inhumane and brutal acts, which it said clearly demonstrate that Thai forces have violated the ceasefire and the Joint Declaration signed by the Prime Ministers of both countries on Oct. 26, 2025, under the witness of U.S. President H.E. Donald Trump and H.E. Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and Chair of ASEAN.
Thai military forces have continued their aggressive attacks on Cambodian forces and civilians in multiple locations across Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, and Pursat provinces.
