Cambodia Announces Visa Exemption Trial for Chinese Tourists Next Year
AKP Phnom Penh, December 03, 2025 --
Cambodia will launch a pilot visa exemption programme for Chinese nationals travelling from China for a four-month period in 2026.
According to an announcement released this morning by the Ministry of Tourism, the pilot policy will allow Chinese tourists to stay in Cambodia for up to 14 days during the four-month period from June 15 to Oct. 15, 2026, without requiring a visa application or any fees.
Chinese visitors will only need to complete an e-arrival card and may enter Cambodia multiple times during the pilot period.
At the same time, the Royal Government has authorised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to request and negotiate with the Chinese Government to ease visa procedures for Cambodian travellers to China, with the long-term goal of achieving full visa exemption.
According to official data, Cambodia welcomed some 889,000 Chinese tourists in the first nine months of this year, an increase of 46.3 percent compared to the same period last year. They accounted for 20.3 percent of the total 4.37 million foreign arrivals to Cambodia during the period.
