CMAA Urges Unity and Efficiency for Mine-Free Future
AKP Phnom Penh, November 25, 2025 -- H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch, Senior Minister and First Vice President of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA), today emphasised the critical need for internal unity, efficiency, and harmony as the nation prepares to launch its new national policy aimed at achieving a mine-free status.
The call came as H.E. Dr. Thuch led the authority's leadership, officials, and staff on a solidarity walk through the historic Angkor resort area in Siem Reap on Nov. 25. The initiative was designed to strengthen institutional solidarity, improve work efficiency, and foster a more harmonious and collaborative culture within the CMAA.
In a statement, the CMAA First Vice President stressed that the group activity was more than a mere gathering; it was a "demonstration of shared commitment and collective effort" toward achieving the CMAA ‘s critical goals for 2026 and beyond, ultimately realising Cambodia's vision of a country entirely free from the impact of landmines and explosive remnants of war (ERW).
As the Royal Government's mandated national body for leading, managing, and coordinating all mine action activities, the CMAA is currently gearing up for the implementation of the ambitious National Mine Action Policy 2026-2035.
This forthcoming policy establishes key national objectives, notably the target of achieving a mine-free Cambodia by 2030 and the long-term vision of ensuring the nation is fully secured from all threats posed by landmines and ERW.
