AKP Phnom Penh, November 25, 2025 -- A major new highway in western Cambodia, National Road 10, is poised to become a vital tourism and economic corridor, seamlessly connecting the country's mountainous interior to its southern coastline.

The newly upgraded 197-kilometre artery stretches from Battambang province’s Samlot district, traverses the rugged terrain of Pursat province, and terminates at the coastal hub of Khemarak Phoumin city in Koh Kong province. The route is designed to unlock previously remote areas, offering travellers a direct and scenic journey through Cambodia’s diverse landscapes.

The development is a cornerstone of the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy, aimed at boosting economic integration, streamlining transport logistics, and creating new opportunities for investment and local communities. By bridging the upland and coastal provinces, the highway is expected to stimulate regional commerce and diversify the nation's tourism offerings.

National Road 10 is more than just infrastructure; it is a gateway to undiscovered Cambodia. "The route carves through breathtaking topography—from lush evergreen forests and deep river gorges to sweeping highland valleys—presenting a continuous panorama of natural attractions."

A key engineering feat of the project is one of the nation's highest bridges, soaring between mountaintops to provide dramatic vantage points.
