Cambodia Joins High-Level Conference on Women, Peace and Digital Transformation
AKP Phnom Penh, November 18, 2025 -- Cambodian Minister of Women’s Affairs H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi led a delegation to attend the High-Level Conference on “Women, Peace and Digital Transformation: Economic Inclusion for Lasting Stability”, held on Nov. 17 in Tokyo, Japan.
Organised by the United Nations University (UNU) and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), the conference aimed to explore the links between women, peace and security, women's economic empowerment, and their roles in the digital economy.
In her remarks, H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi highlighted Cambodia’s progress and experience in securing peace through the "Win-Win Policy" initiated by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister and current President of the Senate, which transformed the nation from conflict to stability and development.
She also underscored the strong role of the Ministry of Women's Affairs, particularly through the ASEAN Committee on Women (ACW), in advancing the ASEAN Regional Plan of Action on Women, Peace and Security, a key regional framework to promote women’s participation in both traditional and non-traditional peace and security efforts.
