DPM PRAK Sokhonn to Attend 46th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie in Rwanda
AKP Phnom Penh, November 15, 2025 -- Deputy Prime Minister H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will attend the 46th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie (46th CMF), to be held on Nov. 19-20, 2025 in Kigali, Republic of Rwanda.
The participation will be made at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Jean-Noël BARROT, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, and H.E. Mr. Olivier J.P. NDUHUNGIREHE, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda, according to a press release issued this evening by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Held under the theme "Thirty Years after the Beijing Conference: The Contribution of Women in the Francophone Countries", the 46th CMF will provide an opportunity for Ministers of member states of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), as well as other participants, to exchange views on key issues and challenges related to the evolving status of women in Francophone countries, and to reaffirm the commitments made at the 19th Francophonie Summit in 2024.
As host of the 20th Francophonie Summit in 2026, Cambodia will take this opportunity to share with delegates to the 46th CMF relevant information regarding preparations for the upcoming Summit.
On the sidelines of the 46th CMF, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn will also hold bilateral meetings with the Secretary General of the OIF and several foreign counterparts from OIF member countries, with a view to further strengthening and deepening bilateral relations.
On Nov. 18, 2025, the eve of the 46th CMF, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn will undertake an official visit to the Republic of Rwanda, at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Olivier J.P. NDUHUNGIREHE. During the visit, both sides are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the two Ministries, marking an important step toward further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Rwanda.
