Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many, Minister of Civil Service, has demanded a clear explanation from the Thai side regarding its brutal attacks on Cambodian civilians.  

« I am saddened to hear about the clash that occurred at Prey Chan village, resulting in the death of a Cambodian citizen and many injured,” he wrote on his Facebook page this evening. 

“What are the circumstances that led to Thai troops using live ammunition on Cambodian civilians?” he asked, stressing that the Thai authorities must give a clear explanation into what led to the incident.

As a Cambodian, the Deputy Prime Minister said he could not fathom for whichever might be the reasons, that Thai troops shall use live ammunition on Cambodian civilians.

“Our hearts, prayers and our trust and confidence are with our Government, our troops as well as the family of loved ones who have been caught in the clash,” he concluded.
