Minister Promotes Cambodian Tourism Potential at UN Tourism General Assembly
AKP Phnom Penh, November 11, 2025 -- H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, has highlighted Cambodia’s tourism potential and rich cultural heritage at the 26th Session of the UN Tourism General Assembly, held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to a news release from the Ministry of Tourism issued on Nov. 11, H.E. Minister Huot Hak made his remarks during the plenary session of the General Assembly, taking place from Nov. 7 to 11.
He underscored Cambodia’s current state of peace, political stability, economic growth, and public order – key factors contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for visitors – in line with the country’s slogan, “Tourism Grows in Peace.”
The Minister also presented Cambodia’s rich tourism resources and heritage, including the world-renowned Angkor Wat, ancient traditions, scenic landscapes throughout the year, and the warm hospitality of the Cambodian people – known worldwide for their “Cambodian smile.”
In addition, H.E. Huot Hak highlighted Cambodia’s upcoming role as host of the 20th Francophonie Summit in 2026 in Siem Reap province, and invited all delegates of the General Assembly to visit Cambodia to experience its unique culture and tourism charm firsthand.
