Humanitarian Demining Operation to Strictly Uphold Sovereignty, Territorial Integrity, and Mutual Respect, Emphasises Spokeswoman
AKP Phnom Penh, November 07, 2025 -- The Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) and the Thai Mine Action Centre (TMAC) held a technical meeting at 12:05 p.m. on Nov. 7 to assess a pilot area in the priority border zone for humanitarian demining operation, according to H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence.
The pilot area is located in O’Beichoan commune, O’Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, Kingdom of Cambodia, opposite Nonmak Moon commune, Khok Song district, Sa Kaeo province, Kingdom of Thailand, in line with the decision of the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Coordinating Task Force (JCTF) meeting held on Oct. 31, 2025, she noted.
The meeting was conducted under the observation of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT).
The spokeswoman added that the discussions and implementation of activities will strictly comply with the principles and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) agreed upon by the JCTF of both countries.
The humanitarian demining operation will be carried out in strict adherence to the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and mutual respect, reaffirmed H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata.
