Cambodia Appoints 12 Senior Police Officers for Cross-Border Crime Cooperation with Thailand

The General Commissariat of the National Police under the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia on Friday appointed a team of 12 senior police officers to work with the Thai side in combating cross-border crimes.
According to the General Commissariat of the National Police, the team, led by a Deputy Commissioner General, will participate in implementing the Action Plan for Cooperation on Preventing and Suppressing Transnational Crimes, including Cybercrime and Human Trafficking, between the Cambodian National Police and the Royal Thai Police, which was jointly signed on Oct. 23, 2025.
This decision was made in accordance with Point 8 of the Action Plan concerning the “Working Group to Implement the Action Plan,” and has been officially communicated to H.E. Gen. Kittharath Punpetch, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police. The appointment aligns with the spirit of the first special meeting held on Sept. 10, 2025, in Koh Kong province, Cambodia, and the second special meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) on Oct. 23, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Action Plan for Cooperation on Preventing and Suppressing Transnational Crimes, including Cybercrime and Human Trafficking aims to strengthen collaboration in effectively and efficiently preventing and suppressing cross-border crimes through information sharing, mutual support in investigative techniques, evidence exchange, and the application of legal measures against suspects, in accordance with the legal frameworks of both countries.
Following the establishment of this working group, both sides shall officially notify each other of their respective members to enable the immediate implementation of the action plan.
