Cambodia-Thailand Joint Coordinating Task Force Identifies a Pilot Border Area for Humanitarian Demining
AKP Phnom Penh, October 31, 2025 -- The Cambodia-Thailand Joint Coordinating Task Force (JCTF) has identified 1 pilot border area in the priority minefield border area for Humanitarian Demining, said H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence.
The decision was made during the JCTF meeting held via VTC this afternoon, which concluded in the evening of the same day.
According to the spokeswoman, the pilot border area is located at O’Beichoan commune, O’Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province of Cambodia, opposite to Nonmak Moon commune, Khok Song district, Sa Kaeo province of Thailand.
This Humanitarian Demining work shall be in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) dated Oct. 23, 2025 between the Cambodia-Thailand JCTF.
Based on the spirit of this meeting, the JCTF has tasked the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) and Thailand Mine Action Centre (TMAC) to meet and discuss on technical work at the actual location on the upcoming Nov. 7, 2025.
This Humanitarian Demining work shall be strictly based on the principle of respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity and stand on the spirit of mutual respects as neighbouring country.
