European Commission Vice President Welcomes Cambodia-Thailand Peace Agreement

The EU High Representative and Vice-President of the European Commission, H.E. Ms. Kaja Kallas, welcomed today’s agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, underlining that it is an important milestone for peace.
“We commend President Donald Trump and Malaysia as ASEAN Chair for their efforts in sealing the deal,” she said.
H.E. Ms. Kaja Kallas also reaffirmed the EU’s readiness to support its implementation, including by facilitating de-mining in the border region.
The historic peace deal was signed by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand. The signing took place under the witness of H.E. Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, and H.E. Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and Chair of the 2025 ASEAN Summits, on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Oct. 26.
