Indian Association of Cambodia Community (IACC) Celebrates Diwali 2025 with Grandeur and Unity

The Indian Association of Cambodia Community (IACC), with the gracious support of the Embassy of India to the Kingdom of Cambodia, celebrated the Festival of Lights – Diwali 2025 at the Chroy Changvar International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh on Oct. 25 in an evening that illuminated friendship, culture, and shared prosperity between India, Cambodia, and the global community.
The event was graced by H.E. Say Samal, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, who attended as the Guest of Honour, alongside H.E. Shri Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and other distinguished dignitaries, officials, and members of the diplomatic and business community.
Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Shri Vanlalvawna Bawitlung extended his Diwali greetings and appreciation to the Cambodian leadership and the Indian diaspora for strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations.
“Diwali is a festival that symbolises light, unity, and hope — values that beautifully connect India and Cambodia through centuries of shared heritage and friendship. The growing partnership between our countries reflects this spirit, built on mutual respect and cooperation across culture, education, and development,” he said.
The Ambassador highlighted India’s continued commitment to enhancing bilateral relations through cultural exchanges, skill development, and collaborative initiatives that contribute to the prosperity of both nations.
IACC President Mr. Jaspal Singh expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, guests, sponsors, and the wider community for making the event a grand success.
“This year’s Diwali celebration truly reflects our collective spirit — uniting Indians, Cambodians, and friends from across the world in a festival that celebrates light, hope, and humanity. IACC remains committed to promoting cultural harmony, business collaboration, and community engagement within the Kingdom of Cambodia,” he shared.
The evening featured mesmerising performances by renowned dance and music troupes from India, who captivated the audience with vibrant traditional and Bollywood-style acts.
A special Apsara Dance performance by the Princess Buppa Devi Dance School beautifully showcased Cambodia’s classical heritage, symbolising the bond between the two ancient civilisations.
The celebration also featured live music performances by leading Indian singers Khushboo Grewal, Sandeep Batra, and Bhargavi Pillai, adding glamour and energy to the night.

According to the Indian Embassy, the festival reaffirmed the growing cultural and economic relationship between the two nations and highlighted the Indian community’s vibrant role in Cambodia’s multicultural landscape.
