Educational Partnership Forged between Cambodia’s Royal Academy and China's Guangxi Minzu University

The Royal Academy of Cambodia (RAC) and Guangxi Minzu University (Guangxi University for Nationalities) of China have agreed to explore a broad partnership aimed at boosting academic and cultural cooperation between the two institutions.
H.E. Dr. Sok Touch, President of the RAC, met with a Chinese delegation led by Mr. Wei Maobin, Vice President of Guangxi Minzu University, on Oct. 13 afternoon to formalisje the preliminary agreement.
During the meeting at the Royal Academy, H.E. Dr. Sok Touch provided an overview of the RAC's history, structure, and functions.
In response, Mr. Wei Maobin commended Cambodia’s national development and praised the significant progress achieved by the Royal Academy under its current leadership.
Mr. Wei underscored the profound historical and cultural connections that bind the two nations, highlighting their ancient roots in the Maritime Silk Road. He emphasised that the modern bilateral relationship is built on mutual respect and flourishing cooperation in key sectors, including education, technology, and culture.
Following constructive discussions, the two institutions reached a preliminary agreement to develop collaborative opportunities across four key areas: 1. The expansion and promotion of Chinese language education programmes; 2. Facilitating academic exchanges for researchers and students, including potential sharing of laboratory facilities; 3. The organisation of joint cultural exhibitions to deepen mutual understanding; 4. Collaborative research projects and studies across various fields.
The agreement signifies a strategic step forward in deepening people-to-people and institutional ties between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the People's Republic of China.
