Japanese Film Festival 2025 in Cambodia to Be Held in Four Cities

The Japanese Film Festival 2025 in Cambodia, the 11th edition of its kind, will take place from October 2025 to January 2026 in four cities — Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Battambang, and Sihanoukville.
According to the festival’s official source, the event will kick off in Siem Reap from Oct. 24 to 26 at Legend Cinema Siem Reap, followed by Sihanoukville from Nov. 14 to 16 at Legend Cinema Sihanoukville.
In Phnom Penh, screenings will be held at four venues: Major Cineplex AEON Mall Phnom Penh and Major Cineplex AEON Meanchey from Dec. 6 to 7; Institut français du Cambodge from Dec. 9 to 13; and Major Cineplex AEON Sen Sok from Dec. 12 to 14.
The festival will conclude in Battambang from Jan. 9 to 11, 2026, at Cinema Ek Phnom.
Organised by the Japan Foundation in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, and the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Centre (CJCC), the annual event aims to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries by showcasing the richness and diversity of Japanese cinema.
Japanese films from various genres will be screened at the participating theatres with free admission, offering audiences a glimpse into Japanese life, society, and culture.
Held annually since 2015, the Japanese Film Festival continues to serve as an important platform for cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and Cambodia.
