Embassy of India Hosts “Viksit Bharat Run 2025”
AKP Phnom Penh, September 28, 2025 --
Over 210 runners from members of Indian diaspora, Cambodian nationals and local celebrities enthusiastically participated in a 5-km “Viksit Bharat Run 2025” (Developed India Run 2025) at Wat Botum Park in Phnom Penh this morning.
The event was organised by the Embassy of India in Cambodia, in association with Indian Association Cambodia Community (IACC).
According to the Embassy, the Government of India has organised this flagship community initiative “Viksit Bharat Run 2025” in 125 selected iconic cities worldwide to promote unity and amplify global partnership. The Run showcased India’s transformative governance, inclusive growth and economic achievements and was also aimed at deepening bonds and engagement with the global Indian community. The Run also showcased India's developmental journey and growth story across key pillars: service, culture, economy, environment, youth involvement, etc.
On the occasion, Ambassador of India H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung encouraged the participants to contribute to global partnerships and to the goals of Viksit Bharat- a developed India by 2047.
A photo exhibition was mounted at the venue to highlight the recent achievements by India. This event marks one of the India's largest global outreach campaigns to channel youth energy towards national goals. The Run was well appreciated by the diaspora, students, professionals, "friends of India", and enthusiast runners in Cambodia.
