Cambodia Records Tourism Surge during 2025 Pchum Ben Holiday
AKP Phnom Penh, September 25, 2025 -- A total of 2,144,224 domestic and international tourists travelled across Cambodia during the three-day Pchum Ben Festival holiday from Sept. 21 to 23, according to figures released this morning by the Ministry of Tourism.
The number represents a 20.1 percent increase compared to the same holiday last year. Of the total, 2,119,781 were national tourists, up 21.2 percent, while 24,443 were foreign visitors, the Ministry reported.
Siem Reap province recorded the highest number of visitors with 238,201, followed by Battambang (218,706), Preah Sihanouk (216,956), Kampong Cham (210,573), and Kampong Chhnang (137,833).
In a social media message on Sept. 24, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet thanked civil servants, local authorities at all levels, and Cambodian citizens for celebrating the Kan Ben and Pchum Ben Festivals with solemnity, joy, safety, and order. He also praised their contribution to preserving and promoting Cambodia’s culture, traditions, and customs.
