AKP Phnom Penh, September 16, 2025 –-

The Second Tripartite Mechanism Meeting between the Royal Government of Cambodia through the Ministry of Tourism, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Cambodia, and leading Chinese travel companies was held virtually on Sept. 15 to promote the growth of Chinese tourists and air connectivity between the two countries.

Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak presided over the meeting with H.E. Wang Wenbin, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Cambodia, Mr. Li Chuan, Vice President of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jiangsu Province, and representatives from tourism sector from both Cambodia and China.  

In the meeting, H.E. Huot Hak requested the Chinese side, as well as the Chinese private sector, to help boost tourism and attract airlines from provinces in China to operate flights to Cambodia’s major tourist destinations such as Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk Provinces, to promote connectivity and facilitate travel for the people of both countries.

H.E. Minister also proposed to prepare an action plan and implement it to promote practical and active implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed so far, as well as to organise more and more Famtrip and film tourism between Cambodia and China.
