Cambodia's "Egg in the Nest" Dessert Wins First Prize at Culinary Competition of International Village of Gastronomy in Paris

The "Egg in the Nest" dessert by Chef Sao Sopheak of Cambodia earned the first prize at the culinary competition of the International Village of Gastronomy in Paris, H.E. Luy David, Cambodian Ambassador to France, announced yesterday on his Facebook account.
Held from Sept. 11 to 14 along the Seine River, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, the International Village of Gastronomy brought together 62 countries from around the world.
According to the Ambassador, Cambodia, designated as the Guest of Honour, showcased the richness of its culinary heritage at its pavilion, featuring Kampot pepper, dried mango, palm sugar, traditional Khmer desserts, prahok, and krama.
Chef Sao Sopheak, in collaboration with the Paul Dubrule Vocational School of Hospitality and Tourism, also gave cooking demonstrations, offering visitors an authentic taste of Cambodian cuisine.
