Cambodian NA President to Attend 46th AIPA General Assembly in Malaysia Next Week
AKP Phnom Penh, September 09, 2025 --
Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of Cambodia’s National Assembly (NA), will lead a high-level delegation to participate in the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from Sept. 16 to 22.
The announcement was made during a preparatory meeting for the regional gathering, chaired by Samdech Khuon Sudary.
This year’s assembly will convene under the theme “Parliament at the Forefront for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable ASEAN.”
AIPA, as ASEAN’s parliamentary platform, convenes annually to bring together lawmakers from across the region to discuss and exchange views on strategies to advance dialogue, negotiations, and the peaceful settlement of challenges. The discussions aim to help realise the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 by promoting sustainable, inclusive, prosperous, and people-centered development.
The participation of the Cambodian delegation will not only strengthen parliamentary mechanisms and uphold multilateral principles but also provide an opportunity for the Cambodian NA to deepen friendships and expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation with member countries and development partners. Areas of cooperation include the economy, trade, society, culture, and tourism, with particular focus on enhancing people-to-people connectivity within the region and globally.
