AKP Phnom Penh, September 09, 2025 -- The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM) and the Hong Kong Observatory of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region have reached a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on meteorological cooperation.

The MoU was signed by H.E. Dr. Oeurng Chantha, Under Secretary of State at MOWRAM, and Dr. Chan Pak Wai, Director of the Hong Kong Observatory.

The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in the field of meteorology, particularly through capacity building in meteorological operations and services in line with international standards.

It also focuses on enhancing support for international civil aviation, improving regional weather forecasting, and contributing to the sustainable development of Cambodia’s meteorological capacity.

In recent years, MOWRAM has been modernising the country’s meteorological sector by building operational and service capacity and strengthening cooperation with development partners to promote the effective use of accurate meteorological data to serve multiple sectors.
