AKP Phnom Penh, September 06, 2025 —

Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has provided humanitarian aid to soldiers and civilians affected by border tensions in Oddar Meanchey province.

Officials from the National Assembly Secretariat-General delivered the assistance on Sept. 6, to Oddar Meanchey Provincial Governor H.E. Mean Chanyada at the Provincial Hall. The aid will be distributed to frontline soldiers, those undergoing medical treatment, and local residents displaced by the situation.

H.E. Dr. Keo Piseth, Chief of Cabinet of the National Assembly President, and Permanent Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly, and H.E. Khuon Davit, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Assembly, formally handed over the donations.

H.E. Governor Mean Chanyada praised the support, stating it "reflects genuine solidarity with our armed forces and people." He attributed Cambodia's resilience to "visionary leadership, diplomatic experience, and the unity and patriotism of the nation, under the wise guidance of Cambodian Acting Head of State Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet."

Conveying a message from the National Assembly President, Dr. Keo Piseth commended the soldiers and local leaders, highlighting Samdech Khuon Sudary's commitment to their well-being. He emphasised her dedication to strengthening peace and stability through both domestic policy and parliamentary diplomacy, aligning with the vision of the country's top leaders.

H.E. Dr. Keo Piseth also paid tribute to the bravery of soldiers defending border temples, noting that their sacrifice has "earned the deep respect of citizens nationwide and fostered a powerful spirit of patriotism and solidarity."

H.E. Khuon Davit added that Samdech Khuon Sudary appreciates the support of all authorities who have stood in solidarity with the armed forces and displaced citizens. He noted that the National Assembly President has been keeping the public informed and encouraging trust in the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet.

He concluded by stressing that the Cambodian leadership is resolving border issues prudently and wisely through diplomatic negotiations and adherence to international law, with a priority on the nation's security and the people's well-being.

The aid package, funded by Samdech Khuon Sudary and other dignitaries, included 105 million Riels or approximately (US$ 26,250) in cash, 12 motorbikes, 100 sacks of rice, and various essential supplies and food items.
