China Southern Power Grid Acknowledges Media's Key Role in Boosting Cooperation with Cambodia

China Southern Power Grid Lancang-Mekong International Co., Ltd. (CSG-LMI) Executive Vice President Mr. Zhou Jianbin have acknowledged the key role played by the media in promoting the energy cooperation between Cambodia and China.
While receiving a Cambodian media delegation led by H.E. Chhean Leang, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Information, during their visit to the CSG-LMI's headquarters in Kunming, China's Yunnan province this afternoon, Mr. Zhou Jianbin underlined the great potential of energy cooperation between the two countries which will be deepened through the support from the Cambodian Ministry of Information and Cambodian media partners.
The Executive Vice President also suggested the establishment of a regular communication mechanism with the ministry and media partners to increase information exchange, build mutual trust, and timely report on environmental protection and social responsibility-related projects.
Mr. Zhou Jianbin pledged ongoing cooperation, emphasising knowledge sharing, cultural exchange, and community projects like the Tatai power initiative. As the Chinese coordinator for Lancang-Mekong power cooperation, CSG-LMI aims to strengthen cross-border energy trade and sustainable development across Southeast Asia, building a win-win energy network.
According to Mr. Zhou, CSG-LMI supports Cambodia’s green energy transition and regional integration through training programmes, having fully funded 171 students from Mekong countries in power engineering and medical science. Over 300 Cambodian specialists have so far received joint training with CSG-LMI.
In response, H.E. Chhean Leang praised CSG-LMI for its advanced technology and thanked the company for its support in building Cambodian capacity. He also warmly invited CSG-LMI to explore further investment opportunities in Cambodia.
Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Yunnan, China, CSG-LMI specialises in cross-border power cooperation throughout the Mekong region and ASEAN, focusing on grid interconnection, investment, and technical consulting. It has expanded its business to 12 countries and regions, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Brunei, Timor-Leste and Bangladesh. It has so far received multiple national awards for its corporate excellence.
