Samdech Techo Hun Sen to Attend Vietnam’s 80th National Day Celebration Early Next Week

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), will pay an official visit to Vietnam and attend the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, to be held from Sept. 1–2, 2025 in Hanoi, at the invitation of H.E. To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
According to a press release from the Senate General Secretariat, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will be accompanied by Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King and CPP Vice President; Samdech Kitti Sangahapundit Men Sam An, Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King, CPP Vice President and President of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodia Motherland; along with senior leaders from various ministries, institutions, and the Cambodian legislative body.
On the sidelines of the historic celebration, the Senate President will hold separate meetings with Vietnamese leaders, including CPV General Secretary H.E. To Lam, H.E. Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the National Assembly, and H.E. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister. He is also scheduled to meet with other foreign leaders attending the commemoration.
This marks Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s third visit to Vietnam in 2025 in his capacity as Senate President and CPP President. The visit underscores Cambodia’s strong commitment to enhancing mutual trust and consolidating the close bonds of friendship and cooperation with neighbouring countries at all levels and across all sectors. It also reaffirms the determination of both countries’ leadership to ensure peace, stability, and sustainable development, in line with the spirit of “good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term stability.”
