Cambodian Acting Head of State Congratulates Malaysia on 68th National Day

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of Cambodia, has extended his sincere congratulations to Malaysia on the auspicious occasion of the 68th Anniversary of Malaysia's National Day (Aug. 31, 1957 - Aug. 31, 2025).
“I wish to compliment Malaysia on its remarkable economic and social progress, achieved by the Malaysian government and people, and its vital role on the regional and international stages. I also congratulate Malaysia as the current Chair of ASEAN for effectively leading ASEAN's work for the common interest of the ASEAN Community and beyond,” Samdech Techo Hun Sen wrote in his separate messages to Hon. Senator Dato Awang Bemee bin Awang Ali Basa, President of the Dewan Negara, and Hon. Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.
He also reaffirmed Cambodia’s firm commitment to further strengthening and deepening the relations in the best interests of the two peoples, thereby contributing to peace, stability, and prosperity in the ASEAN community and beyond.
“Since its establishment in 1957, our two nations friendly diplomatic relations have advanced greatly, anchored by close cooperation in many areas, including politics, social and economic development, and people-to-people exchange. Amid global challenges and uncertainties, I am confident that our two countries will continue to thrive together through our joint efforts and close bilateral and multilateral cooperation,” he emphasised.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen took the opportunity to express Cambodia’s deep gratitude for Malaysia's and, particularly Hon. Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s valuable intermediary role in the recent Ceasefire Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand.
