U.S. President Thanks Cambodian PM for Nobel Peace Prize Nomination
AKP Phnom Penh, August 27, 2025 -- U.S. President H.E. Donald J. Trump has extended his gratitude to Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, for nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize.
“Thank you for your kind letters and especially for nominating me for the Nobel Peace Prize,” he wrote in his recent message to the Cambodian Prime Minister.
“It was a great honor to speak with you to help end the fighting with Thailand. Cambodia has a long and storied history and culture. I can tell that you are a strong leader who values human life and appreciates peace,” he added.
H.E. Donald J. Trump also expressed his pride to be a part of the cease-fire deal that ended the horrible fighting and saved thousands of lives. “Now we can focus on prosperity for our two great countries,” he underlined.
On Aug. 7, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet submitted to the Norwegian Nobel Committee an official letter of nomination for U.S. President Donald Trump for the Noble Peace Prize.
The Cambodian Premier emphasised that this nomination reflects not only his appreciation but also the heartfelt gratitude of the people of Cambodia for H.E. Donald J. Trump’s crucial role in restoring peace and stability at the border between Cambodia and Thailand.
