Cambodia’s Permanent Secretary of State for MFAIC Meets New WFP Country Director
AKP Phnom Penh, August 22, 2025—
H.E. Mrs. EAT Sophea, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) of Cambodia, met with Mrs. Kyung-nan Park, the newly appointed Representative and Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) to Cambodia, at the ministry’s office here on August 21 afternoon.
During the courtesy call, Mrs. Park officially presented her credentials.
Mrs. Park expressed her appreciation for the Royal Government of Cambodia's work in advancing food security and nutrition. She reaffirmed the WFP's commitment to strengthening its collaboration with Cambodia in these key areas.
In response, Her Excellency Mrs. EAT Sophea welcomed and congratulated Mrs. Park on her new appointment. She commended the WFP for its significant contributions to Cambodia's development over the past five decades, specifically mentioning the recent provision of 220 tonnes of rice to 4,500 displaced families in Oddar Meanchey province.
