AKP Qinghai, August 22, 2025 --
H.E. Ho Sophara, Consul General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Yunnan Province, attended and delivered remarks at the 2025 Lancang-Mekong International Video & Image Week held on Aug. 20 in Xining, Qinghai Province, under the theme “Sharing the Same River, Lights and Shadows Illuminating the Lancang-Mekong.”
In his address, H.E. Ho Sophara expressed his profound appreciation to the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the Qinghai Provincial authorities, and the China News Service for their efforts in organising the event, which serves as an important platform to promote cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and closer friendship among the peoples of the Lancang-Mekong countries.
The Consul General underlined that relations between Cambodia and China, guided by the strategic vision of President of China H.E. Xi Jinping, have reached a historic high, becoming a model of comprehensive strategic cooperation based on mutual trust, solidarity, and mutual benefit.
He emphasised that such cooperation has significantly contributed to building a shared future, encompassing peace, stability, and sustainable development.
H.E. Ho Sophara noted that Cambodia and China continue to deepen cooperation in priority sectors, including trade, investment, agriculture, education, science and technology, and cultural exchange.
These achievements, he said, not only advance the common prosperity of the two nations but also contribute significantly to the well-being of the peoples of both countries.
The Consul General concluded by emphasising Cambodia’s strong commitment to preserving and promoting the spirit of friendship and cooperation that has long characterised Cambodia–China relations and the broader Lancang-Mekong partnership.
The Lancang-Mekong River originates from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, China, stretching nearly about 5000 kilometres, linking China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam closely together.
Joint organised by China New Service Qinghai Branch and other organisations, 2025 Lancang-Mekong International Video & Image Week is aimed to bring LMC media to province, the original place of Mekong River, to share stories, exchange culture, learn about the progress in economic development and ecological system protection, and enhance media cooperation, contributing to building a shared future for the Lancang-Mekong River basin.
Through activities such as tent tea gatherings, Generation Z dialogues at the river source, starry sky concerts, and exploratory excursions, they experienced the close connection of Shared River, Shared Future.
