AKP Phnom Penh, August 10, 2025 -- In a joint effort with Phnom Penh-based philanthropists, Banteay Meanchey Provincial Governor H.E. Oum Reatrey distributed humanitarian aid to over 40 orphaned children who were displaced by recent border conflicts. 

The aid was delivered at Chub Vary High School in Preah Netr Preah district on Aug, 9 afternoon, where the children are temporarily sheltering.

The children, who were forced to flee their homes along the borders of Oddar Meanchey and Preah Vihear provinces, are awaiting a safe return.

Governor Oum Reatrey stated that the initiative underscores the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC)'s commitment to the welfare of all citizens, particularly those impacted by displacement. He added that the RGC, under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, is working to ensure "no one is left behind."

"The Royal Government always cares deeply about the welfare of all citizens, particularly those affected by displacement from their homes along the Cambodia–Thailand border, ensuring they can find safety and support," he said.

The distributed aid included 100 cartons of rice, along with clothing and other essential supplies. These provisions were also extended to the medical teams, teachers, and security forces who are serving at the temporary shelter.

H.E. Governor expressed his gratitude to the donors and service members, and he reaffirmed the RGC’s ongoing efforts to find peaceful solutions to end the hostilities. The goal is to allow all affected citizens to return home as soon as possible.
