Cambodia Gears Up for “Green Sprout” Expo and One Million Palm Tree Planting 2025
AKP Phnom Penh, July 11, 2025 -- The Ministry of Environment is set to host the “Green Sprout” Expo alongside the One Million Palm Tree Planting Event 2025, taking place from Aug. 5 to 7 at Win-Win Memorial Park in Phnom Penh, according to its announcement on Friday.
The opening ceremony on Aug. 5 will be presided over by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and his spouse, marking a high-level endorsement of Cambodia’s commitment to environmental sustainability amid the climate change threat.
The three-day event will showcase a wide range of products and achievements, with special attention given to innovations rooted in biodiversity and sustainable practices from the Ministry of Environment, development partners, private enterprises, and the Khmer Youth Association.
The ministry will also provide free saplings of various native species for planting in homes, pagodas, schools, communities, protected natural areas, and other public spaces.
The event is expected to cultivate a deeper public appreciation for tree planting and environmental safeguards while advancing Cambodia’s long-term goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
