AKP Phnom Penh, July 11, 2025—

The National Assembly convenes its fourth session of the seventh legislature here this morning under the presidency of its President Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary (Pic. 1) with the participation of the 125 lawmakers to debate and approve a proposed amendment to Article 33 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The proposed amendment aims to pave the way for the establishment of a legal framework allowing for the revocation of Cambodian citizenship from any citizen found guilty of treason or of engaging in activities that severely harm the interests of Cambodia and its people in collusion with foreign entities.
