AKP Phnom Penh, June 27, 2025 --
Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister of Women's Affairs of Cambodia, on June 26 met here with Ms. Alissar Chaker, the outgoing Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to Cambodia.
During their meeting, Minister Ing Kantha Phavi commended the enduring and productive partnership between the Ministry of Women's Affairs and UNDP, which has flourished since 2002.
She acknowledged UNDP's crucial role as a key development partner in bolstering institutional expertise and integrating gender equality throughout Cambodia.
The discussions also encompassed significant areas of collaboration between UNDP and the Royal Government of Cambodia. Both parties emphasised ongoing efforts in gender mainstreaming, accelerating progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and strengthening the resilience of women and girls in the face of global challenges such as climate change and the advent of artificial intelligence (AI).
In response, Ms. Chaker expressed her gratitude for the close cooperation and strong partnership with the Ministry.
She highlighted UNDP's comprehensive support, extending beyond the Ministry's direct initiatives to encompass broader sectoral programmes aligned with Cambodia's national priorities.
Ms. Chaker is scheduled to conclude her mission in Cambodia in the near future.
