AKP Phnom Penh, June 17, 2025 --  

The Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) and the North-Eastern Development Commission of Nigeria delegation discussed the progress of Cambodia’s demining activities.

H.E. Heng Ratana, CMAC Director General, hosted the discussion with visiting Managing Director/CEO of the North-Eastern Development Commission Mr. Mohammed Goni Alkali at the CMAC headquarters on Jun. 16.

According to CMAC, the visiting delegation wanted to learn from Cambodia’s post-conflict recovery, peacebuilding efforts, and internationally recognised mine clearance programmes.

Mr. Mohammed Goni Alkali expressed his deep appreciation for the achievements of the Royal Government of Cambodia in sustaining peace and national stability in the country.

He was thankful to CMAC for sharing its best practices in humanitarian mine clearance and its initiatives to promote community involvement in protecting civilians from landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO).
