The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Chile have agreed to establish Political Consultations between the two Foreign Ministries, and to convene the first meeting soon.

H.E. Mrs. EAT Sophea, Cambodian Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. Patricio Powell Osorio, Bangkor-based Ambassador of Chile to Cambodia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Establishment of Political Consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Cambodia and Chile in Phnom Penh on June 12.

H.E. Mrs. EAT Sophea exchanged views with Ambassador Patricio Powell Osorio on strengthening and deepening bilateral relations and cooperation in potential areas, such as trade, investment, tourism, and people-to-people connectivity.  

Both sides also expressed commitment to further enhancing cooperation in international fora and emphasised the importance of bilateral consultations between the two Foreign Ministries. They agreed to convene the first meeting in the near future.
