AKP Phnom Penh, May 22, 2025 --

Secretary of State at the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Chum Sounry, met with Ms Bridgette L. Walker, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh, at the ministry on May 21. 

The discussion focused on some aspects of the relationship between the two countries, according to a news release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. 

H.E. Secretary of State reaffirmed the Royal Government of Cambodia’s sincere desire to strengthen cooperation in all areas and to work closely with the U.S. Administration on issues related to bilateral trade and the repatriation of Cambodian nationals subject to final orders of removal.

They appreciated the significant progress made in 2024, especially in defense relations, and expressed confidence that the relationship will be further strengthened.
