Senate President Discusses Development Outlooks with Members from Different Party
AKP Phnom Penh, April 28, 2025 -- The President of the Cambodian Senate, who is also the President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), meets with members of the Senate from the Khmer Will Party (KWP) to exchange insights and outlooks on Cambodia’s development.
Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received the KWP leadership, who are senate members, including H.E. Sok Hach, H.E. Seng Mardy, and H.E. Kong Monika, at the Senate Palace on Apr. 28.
They touched on expansion of Cambodia’s agricultural potential, foundations to foster the real estate sector, identification of competitiveness and market niches for local products, and diversification from garment manufacturing.
Improvement of care services for senior citizens through the deployment of online and new technology, as well as other services such as water supply, electricity, transport, and human capital development, were also part of the in-depth discussion.
The meeting acknowledged the hard work of the Royal Government of Cambodia under the leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and the resilience of Cambodia’s socio-economic growth.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen deeply appreciated the productive discussion, remarking it is normal that different individuals and different political parties have different views, but what is important is that we share a common goal in serving Cambodia and Cambodians.
With that, he continued, Cambodia’s multi-party senate serves as a joint journey under the shadow of peace and political stability to help each other to navigate Cambodia to graduate from the United Nations Least Developed Country status by 2029 and to become an upper-middle-income nation by 2030.
The KWP leadership spoke highly of Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s well-rounded and mature leadership and reassured that their party placed national interest at the heart of their work and stood ready to be part of the solution to Cambodia’s development.
