Cambodian PM: Pope Francis to be Remembered for His Advocacy for Peace, Justice, and Care for the Vulnerable

Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has expressed his deepest condolences over the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.
“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis. On behalf of the Royal Government and people of Cambodia, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the Holy See and the global Catholic community,” the Premier wrote in his condolence letter to Cardinal Pietro PAROLIN, Secretary of State, the Holy See, Vatican City.
Pope Francis will be remembered for his compassion and great advocacy for peace, justice, and care for the vulnerable, Samdech Thipadei added, stressing that his moral leadership and commitment to interfaith dialogue inspired people across the world, including in Cambodia.
“At this time of mourning, our thoughts and prayers are with you and all those grieving this profound loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he concluded.
His Holiness Pope Francis passed away on April 21 at the age of 88 years old. Born on Dec. 17, 1936, he was elected the 266th pope of the Roman Catholic Church on Mar. 13, 2013.
