Cambodia, Indonesia to Level Up Security Cooperation and Fight Human Trafficking
AKP Phnom Penh, January 24, 2025 -- Cambodia and Indonesia have committed to strengthening security cooperation and information exchange to combat human trafficking from and to the two countries.
The commitment was highlighted in a meeting between General Commissioner of the National Police of the Cambodia Ministry of Interior H.E. Gen. Sar Thet and Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Santo Darmosumarto in Phnom Penh on Jan. 23.
They discussed the cooperation between the Cambodian national police and Indonesian law enforcement forces in curbing all types of cross-border crimes.
H.E. Gen. Sar Thet reassured the Indonesian ambassador to Cambodia about the high attention to ensure safety among Indonesians undertaking diplomatic missions, doing business, working, and visiting Cambodia.
H.E. Santo Darmosumarto thanked the general commissioner, appreciating the commitment, and vowed to disseminate the safe situation in Cambodia among his fellow Indonesians.
The two sides also agreed to examine the possibility of updating the existing memorandum of understanding between the two countries' national police forces.
