Cambodia, Cuba Applaud Bilateral Cooperation

Cambodia and Cuba have spoken highly of the progress on their cooperation in health, agriculture, education, sports, and information exchange, and affirmed commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties.
The appreciation was made by H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. Ms. Milena Caridad Zaldivar Piedra, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Cambodia, during their courtesy meeting in Phnom Penh on Jan. 2, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in a press release issued this afternoon.
According to the source, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister underscored the importance of high-level exchanges, especially the official visits of Samdech Techo Hun Sen to Cuba, and the Prime Minister of Cuba to Cambodia in 2022, which added great value to the long-standing ties of friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Cuba.
The Cambodian top diplomat expressed appreciation for Cuba's support in transforming Luang Mae Hospital into a specialised cancer treatment centre and welcomed the exchange and sharing of medical expertise.
H.E. Prak Sokhonn and Ambassador Milena discussed the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Cuba with meaningful joint activities. They also exchanged views on regional and global issues of common interest, and reaffirmed their shared commitment to continued mutual support on the international stage.
