Dhole (Cuon alpinus) listed as a globally endangered species by the IUCN has been found living in the Cardamom Mountains of Cambodia.

The good news was shared yesterday by the Wildlife Alliance Cambodia in a press release.

Dhole is a species of wild dog that has declined dramatically across its extensive range, and it is now a globally endangered species with fewer than 2,500 mature individuals remaining, as explained in the release.

Their presence in the Cardamom Mountains indicates the effective environmental conservation effort by the Government of Cambodia in the area, allowing the increase of the rare wild animal population.
