Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has congratulated Cambodia’s national ITF Taekwon-Do team for winning a total of 41 medals at the 11th Asian ITF Taekwon-Do Championships in Mongolia.

The Cambodian athletes secured eight gold, 12 silver and 21 bronze medals at the continental tournament, which is being held in Mongolia from Aug. 3 to 9, 2026.

The eight gold medals came from various events, including the 10–13 age categories, breaking, special techniques, sparring in the over-92 kg category, patterns in the third-degree black belt women’s category, and red-belt patterns.

The Cambodian delegation also earned 12 silver medals in events including patterns, power breaking, team patterns, sparring, special techniques and performances, while 21 bronze medals were won across patterns, sparring and team events.

The achievement reflects the continued development of Cambodia’s ITF Taekwon-Do and the country’s growing presence in international sporting competitions.

Meanwhile, Cambodia has also secured the right to host the 12th Asian ITF Taekwon-Do Championships in 2028, after receiving unanimous support at the General Assembly of the Asian Taekwon-Do Federation (ATF) in Mongolia on Aug. 4.

Cambodia won the hosting rights ahead of competing bids from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The decision was made on the sidelines of the 11th Asian ITF Taekwon-Do Championships.

Cambodia is represented at the ongoing continental championships by a 47-member delegation, including 32 athletes from the junior and senior national teams.
