Cambodia Handles 2.4 Million Air Passengers in First Four Months of 2026
AKP Phnom Penh, May 15, 2026 -- Cambodia’s aviation sector handled 2.4 million passengers in the first four months of 2026, a 4 percent decrease compared to the same period last year, according to a report released by the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) on Friday.
The report showed that flight movements increased by 2 percent to 23,204, while air cargo volume rose sharply by 36 percent to 30,448 tonnes year-on-year.
SSCA Secretary of State and Spokesperson H.E. Sinn Chanserey Vutha said the aviation sector continues to play a key role in promoting tourism, trade, investment, and socio-cultural connectivity.
“Improved air connectivity and the increasing number of airlines operating services have made travel for businesspeople and tourists to Cambodia more convenient,” he said.
A total of 33 airlines, including four domestic and 29 international carriers, are currently operating flights to and from Cambodia.
Cambodia’s three international airports continue to serve as key regional hubs, connecting the Kingdom with ASEAN member states as well as China, South Korea, Japan, India, Qatar, and other destinations.
Major international carriers such as Qatar Airways, Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airways, and Turkish Airlines remain important links connecting Cambodia to Europe, North America, Africa, and the Middle East through their respective hub airports.
According to the SSCA, Cambodia’s aviation sector recorded 6.98 million passenger movements in 2025, the highest figure in the country’s civil aviation history.
