92% of Villages and 74% of Households Nationwide Electrified

Scores of 13,131 villages nationwide have been electrified as of 2019, while 2,680,000 households have now access to electricity, according to the Ministry of Mines and Energy’s new report.
The electrified villages represent 92.6 percent of the total 14,168 villages across the country and the number of households with access to electricity accounts for 74.7 percent of the total 3,570,000 households.
H.E. Suy Sem, Minister of Mines and Energy, encouraged the Electricity Authority of Cambodia to increase the electrified villages to 100 percent by 2020 as set by the Royal Government.
As of last year, 364 licenses have been given to power distributors.
The latest electricity tariffs show that those using between 1-10kWh per month is charged 380 Riel (US$0.095) per kWh in 2020, and between 11-50kWh, 480 Riel (US$0.12).
For consumption between 51-200kWh per month, the price is 610 Riel (US$0.15) per kWh, and that of over 200kWh, 730 Riel (US$0.18).
